Steps to Request Account Deletion

To request that your WatchSafe account and associated data are deleted, follow these steps:

Open the WatchSafe app or website and sign in to your account.
Go to Settings (gear icon or profile menu).
Scroll to the bottom and open Account deletion & data removal, then review the Delete Account details.
Read the information about what will be deleted.
Enter your password when prompted to confirm your identity.
Confirm that you want to permanently delete your account.
Your account and associated data will be scheduled for deletion.

If you are the only family admin, deleting your account will delete the entire family account and all linked child profiles.

Alternative: If you cannot access the app (e.g., lost device or password), you may request account deletion by emailing privacy@watchsafe.app from the email address associated with your WatchSafe account. We will verify your identity and process the deletion request.

What Data Is Deleted

When you delete your WatchSafe account, we delete or anonymize:

Your account profile (email, name, password hash)
Your family and linked child profiles
Viewing history, watch progress, and preferences
Parent settings, time restrictions, and content filters
Subscription and payment records (as permitted by law)
Device and session data

What Data May Be Kept

We may retain the following where required or permitted:

Anonymized or aggregated analytics that cannot identify you
Records we are legally required to keep (e.g., tax, fraud, legal hold)
Backup copies for up to 30 days (see retention below)

Retention After Deletion

Deleted account data is retained for 30 days for recovery purposes (in case the deletion was accidental). After 30 days, it is permanently removed from our systems. During the 30-day period, the account cannot be used to sign in.

Partial Data Deletion

We do not currently offer a way to request deletion of only some of your data without deleting your account. To request deletion of specific data, you may contact us at privacy@watchsafe.app; we will consider such requests where feasible.
